About us | Event Band Livejazz

The brothers Alessandro and Romano Ricciardi grew up in a family of artists. The mother, Angela, was active as a pop singer in the 70s and was in the finals of the Eurovision Song Contest for Switzerland. The father, Arnaldo Ricciardi, attended the School of Arts in Lugano and has been living as an artist for 20 years now. His paintings are exhibited in the Federal Palace in Bern, among other places.

After graduating from the Music Academy in Bern, Alessandro (Master of Arts and Pedagogy Piano) and Romano (Master of Arts and Pedagogy Saxophone) decided in 2007 to go into business for themselves and live entirely from music: The “family business” LIVEJAZZ.CH was born and now stands since more than 15 years for professional live music at the highest level in various musical styles from jazz to pop to disco classics.

LIVEJAZZ.CH is one of the most successful event bands in Switzerland and has won various awards and accolades in 2017, 2022 and 2023.

Alessandro (piano) and Romano (saxophone and management) are, besides their activities with LIVEJAZZ, also active in the Swiss and international music scene and regularly perform with well-known jazz greats. A quote from George Robert, one of the most important Swiss jazz musicians, aptly describes the brothers musically: “The Ricciardi brothers understand in an impressive way how to play classic, traditional jazz in a contemporary way while preserving tradition. Chapeau!”

Our concept

LIVEJAZZ.CH covers a conceptually broad spectrum of musical services for events of all kinds. Whether a small information, a party band or a combination of live band and DJ: We offer a customized service for demanding clientele and bring from A – Z everything that is needed in terms of technology. For us, music is a service and we work exclusively with professional musicians. With live music at the highest level, we actively contribute to the success of an event.

Our philosophy

In our opinion, the musical framework of an event is essential for a good success and contributes significantly to an informal atmosphere. Therefore, we have made it our business to make our customers happy with professional live music at the highest level, an uncomplicated and efficient administration for bookings, as well as flexibility and adaptability to individual wishes. Our philosophy is to enhance our clients’ occasions with suitable live music and make them unforgettable. In addition to professionalism, the joy of music is also a top priority. LIVEJAZZ.CH will continue to strive for happy and satisfied customers who will remember their successful event with joy.

We attach great importance to professionalism and the highest quality. Our motto is that good live music at a high level has its price, but our customers are rewarded with a musical setting that satisfies them completely and also remains unforgettable in the memory of the guests. In contrast to some competitors in the event music sector, who offer their services on a part-time basis or as a hobby, we work exclusively with full-time professional musicians in order to guarantee the highest possible musical level.

Our musicians have already played together with music greats such as Pepe Lienhart, Alicia Keys, Zucchero, Joss Stone or DJ Antoine and all of them bring at least 15 years of professional experience at countless events.

Our creativity

Improvisation has a very high value for us as fully professional musicians and enables us to play together creatively on a high level. We don’t need fixed procedures for the songs from our repertoire, but create them in the moment, according to the prevailing mood among the guests. So it can happen that the same song is reinterpreted at every event and sounds completely different. This musical freedom, creativity and joy of playing lead to a fresh, current and always spontaneous music, which is highly appreciated by our customers. It happens more often that we surprise the guests at an event with our own versions of well-known hits, offer instrumental solos and involve the audience in singing along or joining in the songs – in each case combined with great fun for both sides and a super mood at the event.
